Falcon Gold Cup balancer is designed to be fed at a relatively low rate of intake (100grm/100kg), compared to the conventional mixes in the Falcon range. Horses and ponies that are only fed small quantities of feed often have a relatively low intake of vitamins, minerals and quality protein. Falcon Gold cup is designed to be fed at 1/6th of the level of a conventional mix and so is an ideal feed for these types. It contains a concentrated level of vitamins and minerals and provides a rich source of quality protein. Gold Cup has a low cereal inclusion and consequently contains a low level of starch ( typically 13 % ). This low starch content ensures the starch 'load' per meal is decreased and therefore reduces the likely hood of significant amounts of starch reaching the hind gut. This in turn can help prevent the reduction of 'friendly bacteria ' in the hind gut. In addition, Gold Cup contains live yeast and provides an efficacious level of live yeast cells. Live yeast acts as a pro biotic, stimulating the growth of 'friendly' bacteria in the hind gut and so keeping the acidity level in check. This helps to maintain an environment in which other 'friendly bacteria', fibre-digesting bacteria can thrive. Falcon Gold Cup is suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis when fed alongside Falcon Alfalfa based fibre feeds, particularly, the generous level of vitamin E (antioxidant) in the Gold Cup can offset the damaging effects of free radicals formed during acute laminitis. The main source of energy in Gold Cup is digestible fibre and oil, which release energy slowly and are less likely to cause over exuberance. Falcon Gold Cup is suitable for horses and ponies competing at all levels and can also be used as a vitamin and mineral top up, where horses and ponies are only fed small amounts of conventional mix from the falcon range. |
